ABSTRACT

In order to comprehend properly the fundamental structural changes which took place in Czechoslovak society, it is necessary to explain them in conjunction with the revolutionary interventions in property relationships between 1945 and 1953. In this short period of time, the basis of the capitalist social order was destroyed. The economic foundation of this transition phase from capitalism to socialism consisted of the nationalisation of all means of production so that finally only personal possessions remained in private hands.
