ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the language of religion and the language of love. It means the love of man and woman. It would say that there could not be religion without the language of religion, and that just as little could there be love without the language of love. There are of course differences, just because love does seem to be connected with sexual impulses or with glands, and there does not seem to be anything comparable in connexion with religion. Now we said that religion makes a difference to a man's life, and obviously being in love does too. But maybe we should warn against misunderstandings here. It may sometimes be said that religion does something to you, or again that love does something to you. God exists is not a statement of fact. It is a confessionor expression of faith. This is recognized in some way when people say that Gods existence is necessary existence.
