ABSTRACT

If you are reading this book to get some guidance on how to move on after your major trauma, you may well have some problems with concentration. Many trauma victims are hyper-alert for danger, as if on sentry duty in a war zone, and this makes concentration on reading difficult. You may wish to avoid reading anything connected with your trauma but this is counterbalanced by a curiosity that has led you to read so far. In these pages you are likely to meet characters who sound all too familiar and there will be a strong tendency to want to run away, but if you follow their story through you will see that there is hope.
