ABSTRACT

At present you probably feel that you are operating in a war zone, with a sense that something terrible is going to happen, but you don’t know quite what. Logically you might explain to yourself that realistically nothing bad is going to happen today, but the sense of vulnerability and threat persists. In Chapter 2 it was explained that this is because of your dodgy or hypersensitive alarm (amygdala). In this chapter the resetting of the alarm is addressed.
