ABSTRACT

As notes are usually written in a hurry to people we know quite well, they are rather informal and sometimes ungrammatical in sentence structure. Usually, there is no need to put any opening or closing remarks; nor is there any need to date the note unless the content of the message makes it crucial to do so. Here we shall cover notes that are written for the following purposes: explaining things, making arrangements, instructing someone to do something, asking for help, apologising for something and giving instructions.
