ABSTRACT

At the ceremony of initiation the candidate enters the Lodge with right breast, shoulder and arm bare, and the trousers of his left leg rolled up, as shown in diagram Z., but this manner of disclosing membership may also be used outside the Lodge. When this method is adopted, however, it is usual to modify it in the way shown in diagram Y. The side of the collar is rolled inwards, and the right cuff and sleeve are rolled inwards and twisted into a knot, which latter must be next to the skin. The end of the left trouser leg is also turned up and similarly twisted into a knot. See illustration opposite page 108.
