ABSTRACT

The fight between those in favour of the regulation and licensing of prostitution, as in France and many other countries, and those who are against all forms of regulation, as in Great Britain, has for the past one hundred years been a bitter and a hotly contested one. And to-day there is in existence, in this country, a very strong belief among a considerable section of the public that the registration and medical inspection of prostitutes on the lines of the French system would be to the advantage of the community.
