ABSTRACT
I Have No Hesitation in classifying Chez la Mère Michel in the restricted category of “grandes tables, petites maisons”. The quality of la Mère Michel's cuisine rivals that of Chez Max, Chez Allard, Chez l’Ami Louis, La Coquille, and Le Provencal. A meal Chez la Mère Michel, as at these other places, costs more than at a medium-priced bistro. But the quality, as I have said, is of a definitely superior order.
