With the help of God and His fair favour, we begin to write a History that is profitable both to soul and body, which a certain holy monk from Gêtêsêmânî ( Gethsemane), whose name was John ⁴ , brought from the country of Hĕndĕ (india) to Bêt Maḳdas (Jerusalem). May his prayer and intercession be with his beloved…for ever and ever. Amen.
