ABSTRACT
There exist fabulous monsters whose existence is well established in fact, but from which the most striking proof will never remove the aura of legend. The horror which they inspire is so intense, their structure so weird from a human perspective, and their size so large that, in spite of scientific acceptance, they will forever remain stuck in the mire of the fantastic and the surreal.
