ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the comparative meaning of science as it is understood conventionally and in the light of Qur’anic precepts. A definition of science can be given in its occidental context: Science is the study of relations between a body of theory and its experimental evaluation on the basis of a minimal number of most reduced axioms. It becomes necessary to study the relationships between science and the real world on the basis of a controlled environment that makes the axiomatic relations work. Take up a slightly more extensive view of science. Modern science arising from theoretical physics sees the scientific aim to be unification of forces and fields in physics. Scientists claim that this can only be possible if the four forces of nature, namely, gravitation, strong nuclear, weak nuclear and electromagnetic forces, become unified.
