(p. 219) The term ‘sale’ means absolute exchange and as such it is the opposite of ‘purchase’. In Arabic, however, both the terms ‘sale’ and ‘purchase’ may with the use of certain prepositions have the same meaning. 110 Thus, it is said that the two terms ‘sell’ and ‘purchase’ are used interchangeably to refer to the two processes of buying and selling. The meaning intended will then become clear from the process itself.
