ABSTRACT

Fanon was concerned with a policy-oriented political philosophy. His concern springs from his notion of commitment as a practical, problem-solving activity. 1 It is of course to be expected that any political philosophy is explicitly concerned with, in fact motivated by, policy matters. This is reflected in his declaration that:

I believe that the fact of the juxtaposition of the white and black races has created a massive psychoexistential complex. I hope by analyzing it to destroy it. 2
