Commitment and the Moral Basis of Political Action

How does Fanon relate morality to political action or practice? A suggestive approach to answering this question is to focus on Fanon’s discussion of the closely-related notions of commitment and social responsibility. These two notions, particularly commitment, must, however, be set in the wider context of Fanon’s views about human nature and the rational basis of human action.
