ABSTRACT

On the thirteenth day of the Camp David Conference, Sunday 17 September, I was leaving the restaurant after breakfast when I became aware of unusual activity in the Festival Hall adjoining the restaurant. Driven by curiosity I entered the Hall. A great change had taken place there – the comfortable furniture had been removed and at the end of the chamber was a platform on which was a long table with seats for three. On the wall hung three big flags: Egyptian, American and Israeli. In front of the table a group of men were placing chairs in rows.
