ABSTRACT

In this essay I return to a defence of free will against a strong critic, in order to leave little doubt about the way in which a creative will works its way in the finite person. By examining the act of creation in the person we can, contrary to denials by traditional theists, establish an experiential basis for the claim that God creates ex nihilo. Creation by God does not nullify the autonomy required by the experience of human will within the order of Nature.
