ABSTRACT

Nature study can be defined as the field devoted to observing and appreciating the natural world. A significant component of nature study, which utilises human beings’ incessant curiosity about nature, includes observing the natural environment. This may include organisms such as birds, insects, plants, trees, and animals. It can also include the natural non-living surroundings found in the natural environment such as rocks and minerals. Nature study also investigates the interrelationships found in nature among the corresponding non-living and living systems and the physical, chemical, biological, and behavioural effects they can have within and between each other. Through the informal study of nature, naturalists seek to gather observations, which can come in the form of written notes, pictures of organisms, and descriptions of the place the observations took place, in order to better explain the natural world around them.
