ABSTRACT
The classical and fundamental ideas of statistical design involve repli cating the experimental treatments, allocating the treatments to the experimental material at random and minimizing the influence of uncon trolled variation. These will be referred to throughout the book, although Chapter 5 concentrates rather more on some specific issues concerning these aspects.
