ABSTRACT
The majority of metamorphic rocks show evidence of more than one phase of deformation, and often multiple stages of metamorphism. By careful study of the mineralogical and textural features of a rock, it should be possible to build up a detailed understanding of the interrelationships between the various mineral phases, and how they relate to specific metamorphic and deformation events.
