ABSTRACT

One way to think about the educational power of ideas is to consider what you’d like to have your students remember about a particular subject a year from now and into the future. You can test how well this worked for you. Recall your own second grade, sixth grade, eleventh grade, or whatever year. What ideas do you remember from a particular class? If the teacher was successful with the subject matter and the experience in general, you will remember two things: the feelings and the ideas. The feelings should be positive, and the ideas should be few but powerful.
