Jane waited for me to sit down and set up my recorder before asking, ‘OK, so let’s have a look at the list of assessments that I asked you to make.’
‘I wasn’t sure what to include. When you said assessment, I thought of all the times that I had to write something which was marked. That mostly happens at uni. Then I thought of here, where my teaching is assessed. I assume that you were getting me to think about the differences between the two locations. Because assessment isn’t just about writing things down and having them marked, it can be about people, such as you or my PDT watching me and commenting on what I do, rather than what I write.’
