ABSTRACT

This chapter assists in enhancing awareness of the issues associated with pragmatics-focused instruction and applying this awareness to one's own interest. It suggests projects and activities that you can engage in individually or preferably in collaboration with others. While the chapter as a whole is largely intended for pre-/in-service teachers and graduate students, it is especially directed at practicing teachers. The second is the design of lesson plans that you utilize in your instructional contexts. Finally, the chapter presents three activities in which we and our colleagues draw on our collective wisdom to explore insights to be used for lesson planning and further dialogue for enhancing L2 pragmatics instruction. These projects represent hands-on opportunities for teacher readers to apply the information provided in this book to their own instructional context and to prepare classroom-based materials.
