ABSTRACT

In the municipal industries of Mariupol, the number of workers ill of dystrophy has recently increased significantly. City doctors concluded on 1 March [1947] that there are 3,789 cases of dystrophy in five factories in Mariupol . . . Their examination has established that the increase in illness is related to a significant degree to the fact that the Ministry of Trade has, in the course of the last five months, systematically reduced the supply of grain and food products to the factories.
