A Performance-Based Roadmap to a Permanent Two-State Solution to the Israeli–Palestinian Conflict

In July 2002 the Quartet put together the so-called Roadmap. However, it was not until the appointment of Mahmoud Abbas as Palestinian prime minister in April 2003 that it was officially initiated. The Roadmap was a performancebased plan in three phases, which ultimately envisaged a safe and Secure Israel coexisting with a viable, sovereign and democratic Palestine.
