ABSTRACT
Introduction Natural lighting or daylighting is provided by direct sunlight, light from a clear sky and daylight from an overcast sky. The total hours of availability of daylight at a given latitude are a function of the relative positions of the sun and earth. The variation in daylight hours throughout the year is shown for two places in the UK in Figs. 9.1 and 9.2.
