ABSTRACT

Having submitted a successful Tender a contracting firm needs to organise itself quickly to be in a position to commence work on-site on the date expected by the architect. The preliminary decisions taken at the Tender stage would be adjusted if necessary and finalised to enable the firm to at least take possession of the site. Taking possession without previous planning could be both costly and wasteful in time caused by delays in obtaining the necessary approvals, licences, permits, labour, materials, equipment and information on time. Prompt attention to such details are essential for the smooth commencement, running and completion of a project.
