ABSTRACT
In the professions, a feminist perspective informs work practices. Workplace sexism, discrimination and oppression should not be tolerated. Equal opportunity, affirmative action and disability rights aim to rectify gendered injustices. With many women in caring work, the chapter distinguishes between:
social expectations of women’s care
the informal care women voluntarily do
paid carework.
The rest of the chapter looks specifically at how feminist ethics applies to:health care with its moral dilemmas and difficult choices
social work with a rationality of caring and principles of empowerment
legal equality with family law and custody
business ethics with an ethic of economically sustainable flourishing.
