ABSTRACT
The development of quality assurance systems as aids to management has been in progress for many years, with the focus on applications pertaining to manufacturing industries. In a construction environment, however, this is still somewhat new. Although the construction process can be compared with the manufacturing process, the design and production of a building differs in many ways from the design and manufacture of products.
