ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the experiences of those who have the courage to embark on what is going to be a long and arduous journey towards TQM. The success of their efforts in the long term is hard to judge at present. The hope of these contractors is that, by emulating world class manufacturers and perhaps other world class organisations, they will be able to enjoy similar benefits, especially competitive advantage.
