ABSTRACT
Many of the problems encountered in providing for older people are the same as, or similar to, those for other groups. Some old people suffer from physical impairment, and some who are housebound share some of the problems of parents with small children. Those who are deaf, blind or socially isolated present difficulties of communication similar to those experienced by ethnic minorities.
