ABSTRACT
Gin wheels are single pulleys fitted with fibre ropes. A person pulls one end to lift a load on the other. There are no brakes or ratchets, so their capacity is whatever a workman can pull hand over hand, perhaps 30–32 kg (66–70 lb).
