ABSTRACT

A cantilever scaffold or a truss-out scaffold is used when it is undesirable or impracticable to found the scaffold on the ground. Cantilevers, usually of steel beams but sometimes of prefabricated scaffold beams, are projected outside the building resting on the edge of a floor slab and held down at the inside end by bolts through the floor slab or by a scaffold frame above the beam and below the soffit of the slab higher up.
