ABSTRACT

Scaffolding requires five skills:

Identifying and handling the materials.

Planning the sequence of work.

Assembling the materials into a sound and stable structure that provides the facilities required of it.

Not working from precarious places, and where necessary providing a safe temporary place from which to build the scaffold.

Being able to work at heights.

These skills are diverse and have to be acquired by one person. This person must also have the character to do first-class job on every occasion because any bad scaffold may be a killer.
