ABSTRACT

The unit of force is the newton (N), named after Isaac Newton who observed apples falling from trees, and realised that the force produced by a falling apple is equal to the mass times the earth's gravitational pull. If the apple was on the moon, it would be the moon's gravitational pull. Although the mass would be the same on the earth as on the moon, the force would be different because the gravitational pull of the earth and moon are not the same.
