ABSTRACT
Parts 6.1 and 6.2 of this chapter deal mainly with ‘built-in’ furniture. Built-in furniture derives some of its structural support from the internal structure of a building, by being attached to the walls and/or floor and ceiling. ‘Free-standing’ furniture, however, is structurally independent of the building.
