ABSTRACT
Thisconsistedofonecolony(theBelgianCongo)andonemandated territory(Ruanda-Urundi).ThecolonyhadbeenacquiredbytheKing, LeopoldII,inthe1880sasakindofpersonalfief,buthadpassedunder theregularjurisdictionoftheBelgianParliamentin1908,followingthe internationalscandalofthecruelexploitationoftheCongoleseinthe productionofrawrubber.Ruanda-UrundihadbeenpartofGerman EastAfrica.
