Hungary under the Dual Monarchy (1867-1914) 1867 Feb. Ausgleirh (or 'Compromise') agreed between Austria/Cisleithania and Hungary /Transleithania, establishing the Dual Monarchy of AustriaHungary (by effectively restoring the autonomist Hungarian Constitution of April 1848) Jun. Ausgleich comes into effect, giving Hungary self~rule in all areas other than the dynastic, diplomatic and military (which are reserved as an Imperial Habsburg monopoly) 1868 Nationalities Law promises fair and equal treatment for all Magyars and non-Magyars within Transleithania/Hungary. Nagodba agreed with Croatia: Croatia promised the same autonomy/devolution within Hungary as Hungary itself hasjust received within the Dual Monarchy 1873 Nov.
