ABSTRACT
It was not the intention, in writing this short book, to offer yet another definition of fascism. As must have become obvious, fascism continues to elude satisfactory precise – and especially concise – definition owing to its intrinsic fluidity and the metamorphoses through which it must go on the journey from ideas, through movement, to regime. It is as if one were to attempt a single definition or description embracing larva, pupa and insect; even if scientifically possible, it would be unlikely to bear much resemblance to visible reality.
