ABSTRACT
Primary care is regarded as the first layer, step or stage of health care in society. Through-
out the world, primary health care is structured differently dependent on which country the
health care professional is in practice. However, irrespective of these differences worldwide,
the aim of primary health care is the same; that is, to provide a service where a person,
family or community can request help for their health problem.
