ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses Back Vowel Sound Shifts and the table lists the vowel shifts that are articulated in the back of the mouth for DAE. There is a sentence for practice with the back vowel shifts at the top of the table. The table is in the same format as the consonant table and table lists the diphthongs of R sound shifts. There is also a sentence for practice with the diphthongs of R shifts at the top of the table. It is section lists all of the sound shift sentences. In some cases there will be additional sentences added. It can work through the shifts from the points of view of Vocal Posture, and Accent Characteristics, shifting back and forth between the own home. It encourages to develop a more clear and personal idiolect. The sequence in the section is based on Kristin Linklater's pyramid in Freeing Shakespeare's Voice.
