ABSTRACT
Rwanda is a former colony of both Germany and Belgium. Kinyarwanda, French and English are all official languages. Kinyarwanda is spoken by all three of the main ethnic groups in Rwanda – the Hutu, Twa and Tutsi – and is also spoken in eastern DR Congo and southern Uganda. It is a Bantu language from the Niger-Congo language group.
