The front of the tongue slopes down and rests behind the bottom front teeth. The middle of the tongue is slightly bunched up towards the middle of the hard palate while the back of the tongue slightly widens and lowers. Resonator finds the Source & Path of Resonance for a Senegalese. Source & Path of Resonance for a Senegalese Accent:From a buoyant chest resonance, the sound travels through a pharynx that can be more or less narrowed, depending on the speaker. However, there will always be some narrowing to create the characteristic pharyngeal twang of the accent.
