ABSTRACT
In line with Rivers’ statement concerning the powerful creativity and imagination that surrounds the disposal of human remains, this book has explored and critically analysed how new perceptions of the environment, ecological ethics and the relationship between humankind and nature have become means to negotiate social relationships, identities, economy and new approaches to death. Such a conjuncture has given the momentum for a series of innovations within burial grounds.
