ABSTRACT

In Part I, we discussed how to construct a curriculum for CLD based on an effective pedagogy and a commitment to principles and values that can make a real difference to young people’s lives. In Part II, we illustrated this approach with lesson ideas and plans that will help schools to achieve worthwhile outcomes for their students. Throughout, we have addressed the reader as a career development professional. In Part III, we suggest ways that career development professionals can develop their expertise in CLD as a leader and manager. We discuss the issue of developing your role in relation to others and the benefits of formulating a policy and development plan to drive the school’s approach to its CLD provision. The chapter also looks at how to observe CLD sessions, facilitate the learning of colleagues, use records effectively and become a skilled CLD communicator.
