ABSTRACT
Remember, the traditional social studies program is generally hated by students and labeled boring and meaningless. Do you really want to spend your teaching career being boring and meaningless? Do you want your students to find boring and meaningless the subject you loved enough to make a career of? So, dare to break the mold. Understand that it is always scary to be the first (or the only) member of the faculty or the department to try something new. There are voices that will tell you that the traditional way is best because it has always been done that way, etc. Why should you be bothered with this?
