ABSTRACT
The lesson here seems almost "oversimplified," but if everyone would "just be nice" to everyone else, what a better place this world would be! This poem lends itself to a discussion with students about how they can back away from someone who is trying to start trouble. It takes a much bigger person to walk away from a fight than to engage in one. The same applies to teasing, to negative peer pressure, etc. The bigger person is the one who knows how to "just be nice" and "just say no."
