Avoid homework overload. Students are in school all day long. The last thing they want to do when they get home is more schoolwork. And by the way, the last thing you want to do when you get home is more schoolwork! But hey, it's part of your job... Kids, however, deserve to have at least some time for just being kids. So when you do assign homework, keep that in mind. Make the homework brief and meaningful.
