ABSTRACT
All along, the concept of production has been utilized in relation to film as materialist process. But the concept "production" on its own does not suffice, for it is open to the query "why production?" and "What is it about production itself that allows it to be given such value for a socialist film-politics? Apart from its being for use not exchange?"
