ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts that are discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book introduces The Milestone Bridge's approach and shows how to identify and prioritize your activity list and explains the three business-model drivers, focus, locus, and modus, with examples on how to effectively set up a business model. It reviews how to manage the most common issues in the business model building process, in a form of a Q&A with a techno-entrepreneur. The book provides some real case studies, which are analyzed in depth in order to illustrate how The Milestone Bridge works in practice. It adds four Appendixes with the goal of providing a deeper understanding of the main topics: Business Model, Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, and Internationalization. The book focuses on the global life science industry and the growing convergence of enabling technologies that produce commercial applications of the biological sciences.
