The business model concerns a company's unique operational strategy, and is about creating a proper fit among its activities to deliver products and services. The business model is a company's operations focused on the timely prioritization and completion of milestones that create value and competitive advantage, while a company's revenue model describes how it makes money selling its products. The value promise is not only to prospective patients or health-care providers, but for employees, investors, strategic partners, university research centers-all the stakeholders in the company's business during the span of product development. Milestones critical to corporate and product development in an early-stage life science company are called value inflection points.
